An exhibition of sculpture at Helminghall Hall

Living so close to Helminghall Hall, I’m sure many or most of us have walked the public footpath through the park filled with deer, soay sheep and of course the many veteran and ancient oaks. Certainly Finn, my goldendoodle, and I go regularly.

You’ve maybe also enjoyed the wonderful walled garden of this historic, moated house. But have you visited since the Art for Cure sculpture exhibition has been in place in the gardens? I’d definitely recommend it. It began in May and it is in place through to 17th September.

There are around 300 gorgeous and varied artworks by 50 artists displayed and the setting really does show off the sculptures to great effect. There are some abstract pieces but far more are representations of the natural world. From majestic stags and polar bears to huge sycamore keys and dandelion clocks, and a myriad of hares, dogs, sheep, owls, mice and even a tiny hedgehog curled up in winter hibernation, this really is a celebration of the natural world.

If you’re feeling flush, the pieces are for sale, and 30% goes to the charity’s fundraising efforts for breast cancer.
